Ringmore W.I. was formed in 1924 and is still a very active and friendly society within the village.

Meeting every second Thursday of the month, in its own WI hall in the village, members participate in a short half hour business meeting, followed by an Open meeting welcoming anyone (including partners, friends and visitors to the village). The Open meetings offer a wide range of interesting talks and activities and have included; wine tasting, quizzes, crafts and talks covering such diverse topics as “Endurance: Antarctic Expedition 1914-1917” and “Beekeeping at Buckfast Abbey”.

Each year we raise money for an agreed local charity. In 2020 this will be “Plymouth Street Pastors”. In the past the beneficiaries have included “The Triangle Centre” and “St Luke’s Hospice”. Ringmore W.I. also arrange days out (for 2019 this was a cream tea at the Burgh Island Hotel), an annual May Fair in the W.I. garden, Christmas Bazaar, and Christmas Dinner in the Journeys End. We meet up with other local W.I.’s for Christmas Carols and fun group meetings.

You will be most welcome to any of the events on our programme that interest you. As a very democratic group we like to take all suggestions and ideas for monthly topics and meetings and as a member you will be able to help the group develop and evolve so that it remains an active and friendly group for many more years to come.

The newly decorated and refurbished WI hall is available for private functions. The hall has kitchen and toilet facilities, garden and large hall. We are also very happy to open up for walking groups for lunches and creams teas.
