In May 2017, The Ringmore Parish Council decided to move forward with creating a Neighbourhood Plan, and to this end a Steering Group with representation from across the Parish was formed.
The aim of the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group has been to create a planning document which will sit under the National Planning Policy Framework, and the Plymouth and South West Devon Joint Local Plan. The Neighbourhood Plan, once approved, will provide the basis for how Ringmore Parish will develop over the next 15 years, from 2020 to 2034.
The Ringmore Parish Neighbourhood Plan is the result of extensive consultation within the Parish, drawing on the views parishioners expressed on to how they want the Parish to develop, and a number of public consultations and meetings have taken place over the past three years. The Plan is now ready to be formally reviewed, firstly by the Parish Council, Residents and interested parties before being accepted by South Hams District Council.
The Plan will then be examined by a Government Inspector before finally, residents of Ringmore Parish have the opportunity to cast their vote on the Plan in a referendum. Once approved, it will become a legal document, to be reviewed every five years during its lifespan to ensure it continues to meet the needs of the community.
